Prerequisite

  • Access to the Chatbot (CB001) menu.

Overview

The Router chatbot is responsible for grouping and standardizing Content-type chatbots, allowing all of them to share the same appearance and behavior settings.

It is also the only type of chatbot that can be added to the Workspace, making it accessible to users on any screen in the system.

By centralizing settings in a single place, the Router chatbot streamlines administration, promotes uniformity in interactions, and optimizes the user experience, especially for companies that want to organize multiple conversation flows.

See below how to register a Router chatbot:

Register a Router chatbot

1. Access the Chatbot (CB001) menu.

2. Click Create to start the registration.

3. Fill in the Identifier and Name fields.

4. If necessary, change the Owner of the chatbot.

5. Set the Bot type to Router and click Continue to proceed to the settings.

6. In the Basic data section, configure the Session timeout, indicating how long the conversation will remain active (between 1 and 15 minutes).

7. If necessary, click Enable message and enter the Welcome message, which is displayed when the chatbot is minimized in the Workspace.

8. Choose the Chatbot position on the user’s screen (bottom left or bottom right corner).

9. Keep or adjust the Allow dragging the icon option, which is enabled by default and allows the chatbot to be moved around the screen.

10. Configure the Profile image, displayed inside the conversation window.

11. Configure the Chatbot button image, which represents the icon when minimized.

12. Click Save to register the settings.

13. To make the chatbot available in the Workspace, click Publish. This action creates a new revision and makes the chatbot available for users.

14. If you need to make adjustments after publishing, use the Enable editing option to return the chatbot to edit mode.

In the Link section, you can add the Content chatbots that will be grouped and displayed through the Router. Refer to the article Associate chatbots for more details.

• The Security option, located in the upper-right corner of the screen, allows you to change access permissions for the chatbot. Security is configured using permission profiles; see more details about what profiles are and how to configure them by clicking here.

Conclusion

The Router chatbot centralizes and organizes the availability of Content chatbots in the Workspace, ensuring visual standardization, greater control, and a more consistent user experience.

Once created, configured, and published, the chatbot becomes available throughout the system, enabling dynamic, structured, and continuous interaction.

Next, see how to associate Content chatbots and make the Router chatbot available in the system.
